Color of the Year "Peach Fuzz" Influences the Sandal Trend 2024
Each year, the Pantone Color Institute™ selects a new trend color, significantly influencing the product offerings of many manufacturers. Last year, a lot of pink was offered. And the year before, seemingly "out of nowhere," a soft lilac hue exploded into our lives. These were the Pantone trend colors of the years 2023 and 2022: "Strawberry Pink" and before that "Veri Peri". Not everyone is a fan of such fashion dictates. However, the good thing is that such color standards make it very easy to combine collections from different brands. I doubt that this is the main intention of color trends, but it is at least a practical side effect. And in case one cannot relate to the color of the year, for example, because it does not suit one's color type, luckily, there are usually plenty of alternatives. For 2024, Pantone has crowned "Peach Fuzz" the winner. The color trend for jackets, sweaters, trousers, candles, toothbrushes, and sandals in 2024 is thus set and marked by a pink-yellow peach tone.
On the Pantone website, I found the following quote from the Pantone Color Institute™ managing director Leatrice Eiseman regarding the selection of the color:
"In seeking a hue that echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection, we chose a color radiant with warmth and modern elegance. A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless." ¹
I personally find this color phenomenal. It appears warm and friendly, adult and youthful at the same time. The great thing about Peach Fuzz is that the tone integrates harmoniously into many color palettes. Here are a few examples of harmonious color combinations with the trend color:

How Self Care in 2024 Rubs Off on Fashion
For several years, the topics of mindfulness and self-care have been increasingly gaining importance in the lives of many people. The connection may seem contrived at first glance, but as a "Shoe Dog," I notice that at the same time, the popularity of casual wear, barefoot shoes, and sandals with comfortable footbeds has increased. For me, it's a clear thing: people are looking beyond the edge (or the edge of their journal) and are also closely examining what personally suits them in fashion and what does not. This is a very pleasing development, as the more benevolently we treat ourselves, the friendlier we are usually to our fellow human beings.

Anyone who reads the news quickly realizes that one crisis is chasing the next. This can be depressing and take the wind out of the sails. But 2024 is not the year of resignation. 2024 is the year in which we show attitude, are aware of our values, and stand up for them!
One value that is central at Fünve is ethical production. This stands for us both for fair production conditions and for animal welfare. And we are not alone in this. The market for vegan products, especially in the fields of food, cosmetics, and fashion, is growing. The number of vegans has almost doubled in Germany over the last eight years.² With over 1.5 million people living vegan, veganism has arrived in the mainstream. This delights us immensely and motivates us to continue on this path.
